brake light on and low brake fluid

This happened on today, Friday the 13th.

Brake check light came on when I was driving in this evening. I thought it was my ebrake handle so I put it off but light stayed on. I stopped the car and checked brake fluid level and at my amazement, it was below the minimum!

Just this morning the brake light was staying off and I checked my brake fluid yesterday. What happened over night? Does any one have a clue?

I have not refilled the brake fluid reservoir yet but feel like this problemn may be much more than that. In fact I kept hearing the "click click" sound from rear brakes whenever I was going over bumps. You know that click click sound when brake pedal is worn out? That sound. Does any one know what is going on? This is a clean car with no leakage.

um, why don't you refill your brake fluid first? There is a connector/sensor that will light the brake warning on your cluster connected to the master cylinder.

You are also gonna have quite a hard time stopping w/o brake fluid.

Thanks, I will see what happens after refilling the brake fluid. It is not hard at all for now. It will be soon.

What are the possible causes for this leak. Last time I checked my brake fluid was 3 days ago and this happens out of blue.
