When I'm driving and my RPM goes past 3k or so from pushing on the gas a little hard, my brake light comes on. Is this suppose to happen? It goes away when the RPM goes down. Sorry for the quality, iPhone camera.

I'll get it checked when I get my brakes changed. I don't feel any difference when the lights on, like it doesn't slow down my car or anything. Oh and my airbag lights are flashing too, and the stealership wants to charge me $50 just to look at it.

Usually that's the effect of the brake fluid being low. Get the brake fluid checked out, I can't help you on the airbag issue tho

I had that problem too, ended up getting my master break cylinder replace under the recall. Not sure if your year is covered under it. Break fluid shouldn't just evaporate. Check your breaks first and make sure they are still good.

it dont evaporate but he also mentioned hes gonna get his brakes checked out so im assuming he may need new brakes. that should cause the drop of the brake fluid

To reset the airbag light.

1) Push the ignition from OFF to ON
the air bag warning light will appear for about 7 seconds and turns off.

2) Push ignition switch OFF immediately.
after ignition switch is turned OFF, wait for about 6 seconds.

after you REPEAT THE PROCEDURE 3 TIMES, push the ignition switch ON, this time the ABS warning light has been reset.
step on the brake and push the button to start the car. Turn the ignition off and start the car.

This method was used in the 2008-2009 models but I just used it on my 2012 and it works just fine. Let me know if you need any help.

Good for you for reposting this because I was too lazy. I use this all the time and it works great. Once in a while I have to do it twice.

Doubtful, might be worth a shot though. It was an $800 fix if I remember correctly. They took a very strange stance on the issue.

this reminds me when my light kept coming on about 2 years ago... the guy said it was my brake pads and i needed knew ones... which made sense since they were going bad anyways, but ive been having this problem again for the past several month, and my brakes are still good for another year or more. so i will be calling nissan this weekends... i will update NICO about what happens after...

Yes, let us know what happens. If I have to pay for this out of my pocket, I'm going to be really disappointed at Nissan. I'm pretty sure the warranty should cover it....

If you are within warranty mileage it will be covered. If you are not within warranty mileage, bring up the action notice.

Okay so I did the steps so that the airbag lights would stop flashing, worked perfectly. Thanks again SanoSuKe. Now the BRAKE light doesn't come on anymore when I floor it. Still going to the Nissan dealership Tuesday to get my brakes replaced.
