yah the brake light is always on, on my gauge cluster

I tried to step on the brake pedals hard, or tap it rapidly. Tried to pull the hand brake up and down a few times but it remains on. If I drive over a bump it might go away and eventually come back. I checked the brake fluid and the level is normal

what could be the problem?

hmm. you sure the brake fluid level was normal, double check it, and fill it till its full.

yep it's half way full but just in case I will fill it up to max with dot3

the power steering, however, was way below the min line, I am going to top it off when I get the car back (alarm install) but that should have nothing to do with the brake light right?

Does the brake light double as a low fluid warning light?

yes it does. which is why someone told him to double check his fluid level.

My 240 does the same thing and Ive been told that it is because there is a sensor for the emergency brake that has gone bad. My brakes are rock solid and the fluid looks great, so I believe that it may be what your experiencing too. Im not sure what its called or the part number, but I just bought a FSM on ebay and can tell you better when it gets here
