I recently bought a 2013 Maxima SV w/ sport pkg. It has 30K miles on it currently. I often notice the BRAKE indicator light come on while accelerating - usually above 3,000rpm - curious if anyone knows why that light would come on during acceleration and if I should be worried? Thanks

Welcome to NICO!

First thing I'd check is the brake fluid. Should be on the drivers side near the firewall, looks like it's gonna be under a plastic cover basically in the corner closest to the windshield. Normally the "brake" light will come on if the fluid is low, and if it's when you're accelerating it's possible it's just at the right level where the brake fluid is sloshing to the back of the reservoir.

It is very important you make sure that it's nothing serious, because if you have a leak in your brake system somewhere (for whatever reason) you could lose most or all your brakes, which wouldn't end well.

The brakes should get tighter as you pump them up-is this happening?
Make sure you are not losing vacuum boost to the brakes-check the vacuum
hoses for air leaks. Also as elwesso says look for brake fluid leaks on the brake
calipers, lines etc.

you might also make sure your emergency brake is completely releasing
Check the number of "clicks" when you pull it up and see if it is correct per the shop manual
(1995 uses 12 clicks)
