Hey guys.. time to change my brake pads~

i went with some project mu street pads.

i think i will change my brake fluid at the same time.. but i never track or anything and thoes motul racing fluids need to be changed more often.

so what a good brake fluid for daily driving?

should i just go to the dealership and get oem? or is there some better dot 3 sythetic brake fluid i can use?

i also heard sythetic fluid messes up our brake system?

thanks

Have you done the 50k mile service? I think that is the one where they replace pretty much all your fluids.

It's 60k when they you're suppose to replace all fluids. I've heard good things about ATE superblue. Also, look into motul rbf 600 and brembo lcf 600, however these are a little bit pricier but higher boiling point.

try the valvoline sythetic brake fluid, it comes in a blue bottle. It's DOT 4 fluid.

Im running Motul RBF 600. Great so far. Haven't been to the track yet to see if its made any difference.

As you already know type 4 fluids will be worse for you than the OEM type 3 as they are more hygroscopic.

Unless you go to a road course (not autocross) the use of a type 4 is a waste of money and you will see zero benefits.

The best fluid is a type 3 off the shelf of any auto parts store. Stay away from the dealer as they steal your money.

I always thought that brake fluids with a higher dry/wet boiling point will last you longer because they are more resistant to the effects of moisture absorption.

If you don't need the high wet /dry boiling points then wehy spend the extra money. There is no way a street car will ever boil brake fluid unless your doing highly illegal things.

Type 4 will absorb water quicker than type 3. The water will corrode brake components.

Gotcha...What are your thoughts on dot 5 brake fluid? It's supposedly non hygroscopic.

Type 5 is silicone based and not compatable with our system.
