hey everybody, my car is leaking brake fluid and i have to fill it up about once a week. I took a look at it and it was leaking around the front driver side tire. Can some one tell me what this could be? I just put in a lower mileage SOHC in and I think the brake line around the the front driver side tire wasnt tighten enough. I hope thats the case but Ive search and people said stuff about brake booster and I dont know where that is. Like I said, the leak is around the front driver side tire. Can some one tell me what would cause this? Thanks in advance.

its most likely your wheel cylinder or your line isn't tight enough. just jack the car up and remove the wheel, then look to see were it is leaking from. if it is leaking form the master cylinder (what people meant when they said brake booster) then it would be farther down the car that you saw the leak.

Thanks I'll do that soon, but here is what I saw today.... I check fluids today again and it was low so I refilled it. I look at where the brake booster line connect to the brake master cylinder and it was dry. But from where the brake resevoir thing connect to the master cylinder, its was wet. I think the bolt there is loose or something. Then I followed a brake line down to the driver side and it completely wet down there with brake fluid and it was destroying the paint. My brake pedal feels mushy when the brake fluid was empty and when its filled up, it brakes normally. What are the symptoms of brake master cylinder leaking anyways? Just wanted to make sure. Dont want to replace the master cylinder if its not bad because this didnt happen with my old engine.

<huh?> booster line shouldn't be connected to the brake master cylinder @ all! that is a vaccuum line & shouldn't have any brake fluid in it.

U may have found 1 of the leaks. brake resevoir o-ring/seal. I doubt the aftermarket parts stores will sell this item; they'll probably recommend getting a new/rebuilt cylinder instead.

[/quote]u will have to pull the wheels off & check if it was just a trickle effect from the leaking of the resevoir down or is it leaking fluid @ the brake caliper/brake hose itself.
