looks like rust or gunk on the disc, tried wiping off but only a small amount comes off and is still noticeable. has this happened to anyone else on here? I've only had my car since April of this year, anyone know what is causing it?

That's normal and happends to most cars after it rains or the vehicle is washed. When you drive the car it will come off no problem dude . Happends to me.

I think this happens to pretty much all cars. I dont think that part of the rotor is treated for rust. it comes off as soon as you drive around and hit the brakes tho.

Just looks like an example of lack of heavy braking...Of course there is nothing actually wrong with that, and those surface rust spots won't cause a problem.

A bit of regularly 'stuck in' rush hour traffic or a couple of high speed slow-downs every fews days would eliminate it completely.
