Hey guys,

I have a 1993 240sx. I've been experiencing rear brake problems. I replace my rear calipers about a year ago, my rotors and pads are new. The wear on the rotors is not uniform (there's some rust on the outer and inner circumference) and they click when I'm stopped and step on the pedal (as if there was a lag between the front and the rear, not enough hydraulic pressure to push the calipers). My pedal is pretty soft too. Any Ideas?

rebleed them. the cv axels can also cause a clicking noise on accel from a stop is more common but it can also happen when braking. it can be caused from the axel not being torqued tight enough. but first check your pad fit in the caliper and your brake pad shims and hardware for proper alignment. the rust outside the contact area of the pad is normal.

The problem is that the rust is on the contact surface. The center of the disc is worn, but the extremities (inside and outside) are not. I can hear my rear calipers click when I press on my brake pedal. It takes them a little while before they start moving, I figure not enough pressure to the rear. I've bled them a few times (I can't bleed my front ABS, I tore the nipple.....long story). How can I troubleshoot the system to pin point the problem?

are the pins on the backs of the inside rear pads lined up with the slots in the caliper piston?
