i would like to get the calipers on my '07 G35 coupe powder coated. How difficult is it to remove them and prep them for that process?

The powder coaters are probably going to recommend that you fully disassemble the caliper. If that's the case, have fun. You'd first need to remove it (a couple of bolts and remove the brake line). Then, disassemble. But, you'll need to get a rebuild kit or new seals from Infiniti/Nissan.

Good luck!

There are, however, alternatives to powder coating, especially when we're talking about brake calipers. There are kits that come with everything that you need to paint them. Its pretty durable, relatively cheap, and you can do it with them still on the car. I'd highly recommend this method.

Calipers are easy to remove. Loosen all 4 bolts first. Then remove them. Take the brake lines off. You might as well use this opportunity to change your brake fluid...so when you remove the brake lines just havea bucket that you drain the lines into. BTW, if you are going to drain the brake fluid it will drain faster if you keep the lid off of the fluid reservoir.
