Ive been looking around trying to find something on this rubber cap that the caliper mounting bolt is in, on a chevy silverado.. cant find any definite answers. i havent rebuilt my Z's calipers yet but plan on it soon due to a leak, so I dont know if we have this same cap sort of deal that someone here might be aware of

put the truck up on stands yesterday, bought the hex bit for the bolts, loosened the bolts and the end of the mounting bolt is maybe 1/4inch out of the rubber cap, I can hand twist it, turning it for hours but it doesnt go any further, doesnt seem like I can pull it out either, like the rubber cap has a guard of some sort

any ideas?

Find a Chevy truck forum?

The Z has two 19mm (or 17mm, I forget) mounting bolts which hold the caliper to the upright. No funny business.

The consensus in the Z32 world is OEM parts only, personally I now follow this 100% of the time...surely there can't be a significant cost difference, so go OEM! :dblthumb:

Yeah man def go OEM.

If you still need help with the brakes on the Chevy, take a pic and post it up. I have done a few brake jobs on the newer style Silverados...but I'm not sure what rubber cap you're talking about
