Ok so doing a simple brake job on a 92 hatch. Puting new rotors and pads on the car, with stock parts. Pulled all the rotors and pads off and try to get the new pads to fir back on over the new rotors is impossible. Thought maybe i didn't have the caliper pistons compressed all the way but i can not get it to move any further. Is there something i am missed? I now have my car with all 4 wheels off on jack stands i need to be done with this already been at it since 11am this morning.

there is a brake tutorial in my signature. i had no problem doing the rear rotors. you need that tool to twist caliper in is all i remember.

compare new and old rotor for size

i believe it is a size issue, maybe the rotor or pad is to large, ran into this problem awhile back, rotor was to thick.

I just did my rears two weeks ago. They were a MEGA PIA to fit on. The calipers are so small so it makes a big pain. Its really just getting lucky lining the caliper up properly with rotor. It took me 5 tries to get everything lined up straight.

okay get a C clamp and and put the old brake pad on the piston and put the C clamp on the middle of the pad lining it up with the piston and that should do the trick I'm also assuming that you took the cap off of the brake resivor so that fluid can be pushed back in

The rear calipers after compressing have to spun in the rest of the way. This can be accomplished with needles nose pliers or a socket tool made just for this. I completley spaced this and fubared it but we in good shape now.
