Is it normal to not be able to screw the piston in if the master cylinder cap is not removed? I did not know that I had to remove it in order to rotate the piston in and I could not do it with the caliper tool. Is it the cylinder cap or the caliper is junk?

Your piston is siezed if you're having trouble getting it in with a tool. I actually just changed my pads yesterday hoping I wouldn't run into the same problem you are having now. These cars are getting older every day and even with the best care parts go out eventually. And as far as the master cylinder cap are you referring to the resevoir in the engine bay, if so I have never heard that before and I've changed out several brake components on my vehicles. Again I could be mistaken but for me it has never been an issue.

Thanks for the info, just making sure. So yeah, my rear pistons are probably seized -even that rubber cover was detached. If anyone has rear calipers please pm me.
