Car: 1991 240sx, with pignose and sohc motor--WTF was i thinking

Post

It seems the stud closest to the fender on the brake booster is broke. The booster is a little tweaked and there is a metal bracket infront of it that is stopping it from going straight.

I just wanted to know what parts i should get, or if there's is a way to fix it like welding the booster to the bolt. I dont really want to go for a super hack way, but this isnt really going to be much more than a DD so i dont want to buy a whole new booster and master cylinder if i dont have to.

hope this pick can help, it's a little blurry

ehhhh that could put unwanted stress on your pushrod inside the booster/master cyclinder, and welding is just a complete hack job not to mention will probably only make it more difficult for the future. What i suggest is that you browse the classifieds, like the part outs, or scavenge your local junkyards for a used brake booster, should be realitively cheap, and not too hard too replace, same goes with your master cyclinder. In my opinion if you cut corners today, you'll end up paying for it tomorrow.

thanks alot man, you've been a good help. Im not driving this car right now because of this, i actually had to get it trailered home when i bought it. I just wanted to know if i just got a new booster would that just fix the problem? And then after that if there's still a prob i could get a new MC. This car is just meant to be a fun winter beater so im not sweatin it right now because i got another couple of months til it needs to be on the road.
