Hello. I'm trying to bleed my brakes but I'm having a more difficult time than I had anticipated. I purchased a vacuum bleeding kit at Auto Zone but I'm getting too much air in from the bleeder threads. I'm not really sure if it's working or not. Now I'm debating whether I should order the positive pressure bleeding kit from Motive or the reverse bleeding kit from Phoenix (or something like that). Does anyone have any experience with either method or product? In theory, the reverse method sounds more promising to me. For reference, the Nissan dealer by me charges $150 for a brake flush. Both the Motive and Pheonix products are like 60-80 dollars. TIA.

Oh and just in case you're wondering, I have a 89 240 (stock master cylinder) with Z brakes all around.

And no ABS? The thing should be a cinch to bleed. Why not just get a buddy and bleed it the traditional way?

I used a vacuum bleeder on my car (with Z brakes). I ended up getting a decent amount of air past the hose, but not the threads on the bleeder screw. You pretty much just barely have to crack it open. Also, as long as you maintain vacuum, you WILL be sucking brake fluid through, even if you are sucking a little air with it. Good luck!
