Yeah. I'm going to try the breaking at highway speeds. I just had my tires rebalanced by the dealer. So if my wheel shakes while breaking, then ill know its the rotors. The Bodyguard wrote:The real test for your rotors if felt at braking!! If when you brake hard from normal speed (or highway speed) you feel that almost uncontrollable shaking it's clear your rotors will be warped! When you've just been stuck in traffic our come from a long road trip and get home and feel like cleaning your wheels and spray some cleaner (or not) and proceed to splash them with a stream of water with the hose, you will damage your rotors as they have gone through extreme temperature change...![]()
That's the easiest way for me to be able to tell... If car is shaking while driving it usually is improper wheel balance... Try and find a shop with new road force balance machines!
So are the breakmotive ones the best ? I have seen some aftermarket rotors on cars that are rusted and look rather unattractive. I'd rather not have this issueMinus (-) wrote:From my experience, shaking/shimming at or above 65 mph...you would feel it in the car and steering wheel. Try getting your rotors cut and if they're past that point just replace the rotors and pads with brakemotive from ebay.....haven't personally for my M yet, but i've had it on my avalon
Go with the Brakemotive!! They are the best bang for your buck and then some... Before installation paint the center (where the bolts go) a clean black look to protect from rust some more and you'll surely be satisfied with these brakes!Minus (-) wrote:lol...how can i forget to mention braking the car as well....Bodyguard summed it up tho.....my guess is brakemotive is the best bang for your buck....on my Avy i did see a kind of orange-ish hue coming to it, but that was after i used some abrasive chrome rim cleaner(eagle one) and some splashed on it...i dunno bout on the M's...maybe somebody with a set will chime in
