Hi everyone, I checked the forums before posting and couldnt seem to find anything about 99' i30s on the forums with this problem, so here goes...

This morning my battery and brake light came on, now I know this usually means the serpentine belt snapped, or a bad alternator. So I was furious because I had the serpentine belt fall off, changed the tensioner, then it fell off again because the harmonic balancer basically broke off.

So today I come home and load test the battery, regular 12 volts and goes up to 14.5 when revving the engine, i checked the fuse and it is fine. What else can it be? The battery is charging fine. How do I get these sensors to turn off as the battery is obviously charging fine.

Thanks in advance.

...and the car ended up dying about 2 miles from my house while doing some night driving, so i guess it is the alternator.

I answered my own question, not the way I wanted though.
