Ok, so my rear brake pads are at the noise makers.

I just bought a set of Hawks. I don't have the time to turn the rotors. What does everybody think about me doing a light sand (800 grit wet) temporarily until I get new rotors?

If the rotors look OK, I would just slap them on. Rear right? yep, I would put them on without sanding.

I recently replaced the front & rear pads on my cobra. Rotors looked good.Cobra has some great brakes! I replaced the original fronts at around 70k miles and the rears around 80K miles.....rears really didn't need them yet.

I would either turn them or just install the pads.

Do you have pedal pulse? are the new pads the same as the old pads?

There is slight pedal pulse during heavy braking (60+ MPH to a stop- Freeway offramp).

The existing pads are Infiniti, the new ones are Hawk HPS.

I plan on getting some new rotors soon, but I'll be driving around 500 miles this weekend and can't wait.

I have been slapping on front pads for the last 4 years on the little Nissan without any turning, and the brakes have been great. I rarely turn my rotors. I just use them as is until I decide to buy new ones. Sometimes, if they are turned with flaws, they can actually hurt the brakes much more than if they were not turned. if you don't feel any pulse or uneven shudder with the old pads, and if you intend to use the same pads as the original pads, and if you know you are not too hard on your brakes, just slap them on.

i would turn them. even if you pay autozone or such to do it, it will be like $15-20 total. Well worth your while IMO.

I won't ever drive around in FL knowing that a madman that goes by Jacko3 on NICO, drives around "flogging" his cars with questionable braking capabilities.

I'm used to changing my pads every 6-8 months and I swear by powerslots, but I think I might try Brake Solutions International this time. They have some great deals on Ebay and all of their rotors are Cryo treated.

I just haven't ordered anything from them and my Infiniti buddy could only get me stoptechs for $98/each
