So I'm looking into what brakes I'll want and I was considering either Brembo, Rotara, or StopTech. Anyone had any problems with either of the latter? They're both more affordable, and Rotara has blue calipers available, which is a huge plus to me, but ultimately performance is what will sell me. If Brembo seriously outclasses both of em then I'll just wait and save up. Thanks in advance.

Also, I've got 18s so are 15" rotors too big? I was thinking maybe 14s in front, and 13s in rear. Any protips appreciated.

Stoptechs are excellent, and IIRC are available in Blue special order.

He'll get you great prices too.

Rotora and Brembo are also good.

What will be your use? Track, strip, street? 14" will be big enough for pretty much anything.

Don't forget the stainless lines and 300° Brake master cylinder brace.

Track use, not much of a quarter-mile guy really. What use is all that adrenaline if it only lasts 10 seconds? :dblthumb:

Cheap for a 4 wheel kit, but very heavy.

True, but for that size rotor, I'd source a two piece variant. A solid iron rotor that big has to weigh at least 5lbs more than stock, and that's a good amount of rotating mass.

Oh, for sure. That would be the least of my worries at that point. I have a decent source for brakes :)

Ugh, I MUST have lost my damn mind. I'm seriously going to spend $5000 on the StopTechs... I guess for that money I should finish powertrain mods first. My bank account is already crying from all the neglect.

I'd be more interested in cooling for track than debating calipers. Try a setup like a high quality brake fluid(Motul rbf600, 5.1, Super Blue) + stainless steel lines + master cylinder brace + a race pad + 13 rotor+ pedals for heel to toe+ and some ducting to the rotors like so.

air goes through the side and out through the vanes

I have no Idea what tires you will be running on the track but if you can lock up your tires with this setup you dont really need bigger brakes, imo you need sticker tires. But yeah if you want big calipers for bling factor or you are pushing a good bit of HP and running some nice sticky tires then I'd probably upgrade to the akebono kit myself.
