Brake advice

I've noticed after I put my 20s on my car, (08 M45x) that there's a subtle decrease in the acceleration and braking. I've heard this is expected, and while the acceleration doesn't bother me as the stock car was plenty fast for my needs. However I was wondering if anybody's done any brake work and what the results were? Big brake kit for front would be nice but then I can't put my stock rims back on for winter use. I was considering replacing all 4 rotors and doing high performance brake pads, with possibly braided line? anybody's thoughts or experiences would be appreciated...
