I have a ka24de in the shop right now with an unknown injector problem. All grounds that i can find are well connected but i'm pretty sure i may have accidentally deleted the plug for the braided ground that is somewhere on the back of the motor area.

Can someone please provide a picture as to where this normally plugs into and if whether or not this could be my problem. Shop is at a stand still till i can give them a little bit of info i guess. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

All it does is ground to the valve cover to the firewall. It shouldn't be related to your injector issue. Have you tested for continuity between the ecu and the injectors?

I didn't really check much of the wiring myself just did some trial and error with spare parts. but the mechanic i took it to hooked it up to their diagnostic machine and all the sensors were working. He also hooked up a low impedence light and to the switched ground out of the ecu and all it was slighly dim when it should be completely switching on and off with the pulse. I'm not too sure what that means test continuity but i know injectors are getting constant 12v but not switching ground from ecu.

Find yourself an ecu pinout diagram (FSM has it) and follow the wire. Or just follow your injector wires back through the harness, whichever is easier.

It might be your ecu itself. Try a different one and see if it works.

I have another ecu from a parts car that was a 91 auto. i tried that when it was at my house and same problem persisted. not sure if it would cause that same problem but i'm pretty sure that ecu should work? yeah i could def try checking those wires then.

Yeah if it did the same thing with the other ECU then it's probably the wires. If you have a parts car it might be easier to pull the entire harness from that and use it in the other car. Tracing down a short in the harness is a time consuming ordeal, it's much easier just to replace the whole thing.

yeah i should try that never completely connected the other harness through the car. i also deleted all the emissions including egr and avi is there any wiring or grounds that i would have to worry about on any of those systems or should it start and run with those plugs just not connected to anything?

You never completely connected what harness? I'm not sure if the wiring harness must be fully connected in order for the engine to operate.

I deleted my emissions and did not plug those connectors in, at worst you will just throw a CEL.

Sorry, i never completely routed the harness from the parts car into the bay. i know there is a plug at the very end (i think its brown) that is tucked up next to the glove box. I know i never plugged that in, but it would do the same thing, that is turn over but the injectors weren't firing.

That's what i figured with the emissions stuff i was just was checking.
