I liked the oem hood with the two vents.

The bed needs some love but the black looks good.

regarding the hood scoop... it would be sweet if it was on the carb side with a hole cut in the hood to get air to it

oh its very functional..there was a hole cut in the hood already..im not sure why but i had to put sumthin over it...i fabbed up a small metal box that i attached to the end of the metal tube coming off the stock air filter rite under the scoop so its fully functional you can actually feel it pulling air threw it when you rev the truck..now the bed.......thats a nother story im just gettin into it and the more i dig the more rust yay!!thats what i get for buyin a truck from the coast...couple people here our in washington and on that side and can tell you it sucks im sure...but i pulled the bed liner today and of course the back half of the floor of the bed is rusted out but ill get to it..and lots of surface crap to fix and sum pain.. ill get a couple pics of the intake stuff

lol sorry not my intentions!!but function is my number one priority...i just found an 80 720 here in town for a nice deal that i might pick up to go full out mini truck with..but this for now is my get around town toy..anyways the scoop....like i said better than rain and we all know engines run better with colder air it helps with fuel breakdown and stuff..so i figured it probably would hurt it pullin cool air from outside the truck instead of hot air strait off the exhaust manifold...sounds rite to me??lol

well it looks to be fine for what you have under the hood thus far.... but if you ever go with a weber carb you'll need the scoop on the other side of the hood

as far as i know the bed fits... the frames are the same for all 720's of the same length (KC = KC and single cab = single cab) for all years... so it should bolt up just the same

Since you have a king cab you're okay.

The only time there's a problem switching early and late stuff is on a single cab. The later cabs on a single cab truck are a bit longer.

Your bed looks a hell of a lot better than mine does.

well iv been doin sum work and havnt updated in a while so here goes!!got alot done the bed!!

I decided to practice my sewing skills on sumthing other than motorcycle seats...so i made a new head liner wich turned out to be a pain beacause from factory the headliner is wraped around the window edges befor they put the glass in so the sides were easy but front and back the glass had to come out so instead of doin that we made a few trim pieces outta panel boared and i just screwd them in until i can get a new windshield and pulll the old one out and do it rite.. oh and while i was tearin the interior apart i started blacking everything out...to match the new red headliner better!!

heres the original color..i like it way way better black!!

and the last thing i did was the dash...no more glove box, ashtray,or the little change thing or whatever it was with the flip down door that looked like S**t...just waiting on my vinyl dye to get here to do the top part...

thats it for now..workin on gettin a manual transmission for it...if anybody knows where i can score one let me know!!

I have a spare 1981 hood (with the two fake plastic vents on it) in good shape if you're interested. I'm in Oregon, but drive up to the Seattle area to visit family fairly often. Spare front clip too if you want, but it's in crap shape, that's why I replaced it

It's a good hood, the driver side vent is JB welded on, and there is a little bondo under those primer spots, but you'd be hard pressed to tell.

Yea that scoop is bad but i could understand why its there considering a big empty hole. If you decide to keep using vents or scoops for the hood the best kind of hood scoop for an intake is the one in this link, it has been used in the past and still is used. (280z/zx)

http://cache.jalopnik.com/asse...p.jpg Now for letting air out (over the exhaust mani) a vent is your best bet but you could use a b****in' 300zx hood scoop reversed. (hole pointing towards driver/passenger) A pic will do better than my explanation.

I'd use the 280z to let air to the carb and the 300z the let air out over the header or ex mani.

yeah the scoop is really just there to cover the hole...i hade a gift card layin around with like only 4 bucks on it so i ordered the one i have off ebay..lol dont get me wrong its not the most bad a$$ lookin set up but its not half bad for 5 bucks.....i have sum pretty crazy plans in store for this baby so in a few months i might be cutting a much bigger hole.....i wanna section it like three inches chop and rake the hell outta the roof and probably body drop also..but NO airbags...my buddy drives a b2200 on bags and its the most uncomfortable ride iv ever been in.....im also ookin for a 1ton rear end for it iv seen a couple 720 duellies in town and i think one slammed would look pretty cool especially with all the other mods....let me know what you think..
