A few people have bashed the bra on my Q, and others think it gives it a different but good sporty look. The purpose of it is to keep the bugs off my bumper since I was driving long distances every day. But now since I'm back with Infiniti and closer to home, it doesn't serve that purpose anymore. I've kept it on because I sort of like the styling, but at the same time looking at the "before" pics the car wasn't that bad without the bra. I'd like some help with the verdict.

I say Clear Bra or no Bra. You can always hold onto it for long road trips. I've personally never put a bra on either of my Q's. I just went to the car wash more often I suppose. The Q has the kind of paint quality to where I don't believe a bra is as necessary as it would be on another car with a mediocre paint job.

I'm sorry, I just never been a fan of bras. I don't like it on my women nor on my cars. By the way, you have a very nice Q.

In my experience bras cause as much damage as they guard against. You save some rock chips, but they rub the paint as they flex in the wind. I've had real good luck with the small mirror bras though, as they aren't big enough to flex.

Wow, I expected some close results but it seems you guys have some good reasons not to go with the bra. Where can I get a clear bra? Anybody ever tried clear armor?

I kinda like it, and the nose of your Q looks immaculate.. Id use it for daily driving, but be sure to take it off every so often and clean under there...

Clearbra might not be a bad idea either!

At first, I did not like the Bra on your Q45. But, after looking at it for awhile, it has really grown on me. I think it helps it to stand out a little better. Also, it gives it a little bit of a "sporty" look to it.

Black on white is a good combination.

I vote to keep the Bra.

If you decide to get rid of the bra, I might be willing to buy it depending on the price.

My theory on bra's is this: why keep it nice and clean for the next owner? Screw them, I'm going to enjoy it, and when the next owner comes along, they will get the cleanest Y33 (IMHO) in town because I take immaculate care of my vehicles anyway.

Must be a California thing I totally agree! But my reasoning was because I'm a clean freak and when I washed my car every weekend it was a pain in the a$$ to clean the bugs off the front. Now it's just a style thing since I'm not driving as much anymore.

Yes... With all the rock chips, id give anything for a bra... Id use it anytime your just driving aorund and then take it off when you want to show the car at a NICO meet (which you have yet to *ahem* show up to)...

Style wise, its not good, but im more for function over style......

I think it looks nice either way, but since you ask. Leave it off, it looks cleaner. My dad has the same color Q. The bra would look better on my Black '90. Maybe I'll look for one.

Depends on whats underneath it. If you have a bunch of rock chips and scraps that you are covering up it probably looks better with it on-IMHO.

First off you need to get a Plate up front.I voted to get rid of it, but i DON'T strongly dislike it !!

If the nose of your car is free of chips go without it....But you need to get a front plate, then post a new pic. I bought the flat plate, but i wished i paid the extra $10-$15 for the 3D infiniti LOGO

Yeah I've been looking at this one almost as long as I've had the car. But I'm looking for one that is black/chrome so it matches the emblem. BTW, the bra is gone. It looks nice without it, I guess it brought back the luxury. I think the mirror plate would definitly bring out the chrome on the car and make me forget about the bra. I'll snap some pics once I have the chance.

If you can get away with not having a plate then do it. You're lucky you don't live here.

HD you didn't miss much -if anything.

What's with this over-sensitivity on post's ? Wes, Clean it up!??!!! WTH that was nothing ! This was so provocative (eyes roll -w/sarcasm) !!!!!! I thought it settled out by itself, w/o the deus ex machinations; -if you get it (please be consistent). PC moderatus Warning... again. Why bother...again.

As far as the bra is concerned you dumped it and I agree with your decision. Now I do agree it would look good on a black Q.

As far as "cleaning up threads." I think there is a difference in moderating a forum and dominating it.

We all know that PMQ is off the charts when it comes to some of his ideas but if you are going to continually erase his posts that is a form of censorship.

It wasnt even serious enough to really warrant it. The only reason why this is being excepted by most is because the majority of the forum users do not like PMQ or his opinions.

Come on guys lets be fair and let people speak their minds without fear of ridicule or adverse action.

So anyway... about that front plate... how much is it? I think it looks fantastic, especially the silver one on a pearly white Q. Darn you guys in Indy being able to do that!

Actually it's against the law out here to not have a front plate (in Cali), but then the worst thing that you can get is a fix it ticket which is a $5 fine at most. It's so minor that most cops don't bother pulling you over. Hell I've even seen cops without front plates! I've never had a front plate on any car I've owned, and have yet to get a ticket (knock on wood). I've been pulled over for speeding once and still didn't get ticketed for not having a front plate.

Jesda I've been looking at that plate for a while now on ebay. $29.95 at buy it now price + shipping. I don't know why I haven't bought it yet. Maybe I just really want a black/chrome one that bad.

Pito, I agree with you on the bra looking better on a black Q. But I probably wouldn't even bother to put one on a black one because bugs wouldn't be as noticeable on a black Q as they are on my pearl one. As far as the deleted posts go...well I can't even remember what they were about.

That's good info Evan -

I didn't realize CA was so lax on their plate laws. Apparently NV is much more strict.

No front plates in AZ, and my Q has no plate holes!

My Q has no plate holes either, so I mounted it low, using 4 long bolts, and 2 pieces of steel with holes cut to "clamp" the plate on. I know the cops are pretty lax about it here, but I'd rather not give them any excuses to pulll me over. Especially if I've been out for a few drinks - not that I would drink and drive, but one drink can be too many according to law.

I recently put a bra on my J. The damage had already been done so I wanted to cover it up. One day I was finishing up washing the car and my wife is looking at the front from about 20 feet away and was like, "didn't you wash the front?" All those little scratches and knicks from 100k miles...

I kinda like the look.

Do you know why it is illegal to not have a front plate in California and a few other states?

It's because they are watching you. What do you think all those cameras are for? "Oh, they are there for your safety." . That's BS. There are cameras around here that are at intersections that see no more than 20 cars a day. That's Bullcrap.

And guess where the money comes from to pay for those cameras. Your Pocket! Tax dollars pay for those things. So, they are there to protect you, and to make you feel secure? How secure do feel when someones elses' hand is reaching into your pocket(please no sex comments) and taking out money?

I would have to say that by far Georgia is the worst with cameras. There are cameras along I-75 not even 50Yards away from each other. I used to know a website that the public could go to and see what those cameras were seeing. It was on about a 10 minute delay.

Anyway, that's just really scary to have cameras everywhere for your "safety and protection".

I think I should invent a device that will turn off those cameras! That would be awesome. Have it turn off cameras in, oh lets say a 1 mile radius. I bet that would piss the Govt off. [/rant]

Wow, where did ^^^ that come from?

I do hope that that was not too far off topic .

Iwas going to make another post, but I just read what Wes said, so I have to edit this one .

Quote »Elwesso..... I havent been doing a good job of intervening so we dont get on these tangets in the first place... However that will change so go ahead and get over it before you get mad... [/quote]I disagree! You have been doing a good job!!!

There haven't been any arguements for a few weeks, sinse Ryan was banned. As long as members arn't getting out of hand, you are doing a good job.

Remember, I properly run government does not actually need government officials to intervine. As you could see with this thread, I got off topic, a few other people posted, and then we returned to the topic. That is the sign of a well run government.

Keep up the good work!

Its the big reason I could never live in Britain. All those @#$@#$ traffic cameras watching your EVERY move. When school is done, I plan on getting a job in the city and a house in the country off a long back road.
