I know that no one where will condone using air vented BOV's but they came with the car. I was doing a boost leak test this morning and found a couple leaks, fixed them and then pressurized again to hear a little bit of air hissing past the bov's inner piston and out the vent hole.

These are old school jdm prof sheepdog bov's which I doubt no one will have heard of but to describe the internals they are basically a cylinder with a spring and piston inside of them and two ports. Looks like a little 2 stroke engine to me without the rod+crank. I'm guessing they are old and have worn down so the piston does not seal perfectly anymore as they are not opening under the 5psi but it's getting past the piston. It takes a while for the air to completely bleed out of the system and it will still pressurize fine.

Should I have to worry about this little bit of air escaping?

Yes, though it may not be too bad, this will still cause your car to run rich, if you have the funds get something else. BTW i'm running twin RFLs so not everyone here hates BOVs. ;)

i just put my dual Z1 BOVs on last month! vrooooooooooom *WHOOSH* vrooooooooooom *WHOOSH* :)

if your BOVs came with the car and they're getting crappy you can always look around for the oem recirculation valves to put everything back to stock again, it would be a lot cheaper than buying new BOVs. if you find someone selling them, be sure to ask if they have the rubber tubes to go with them, it'll save you a hassle trying to find replacements that won't blow under pressure i think
