I used to have my BOV on the cold side about 5 inch from the TB, because some said that it is better to keep the air moving in one direction. With that set up I notice some compressor surge " cha cha cha cha" sound when let off. So i said f*ck it , who cares about the air movement. Better save my turbo than the air. I patch that hole up and mount it on the hot side like i see alot of people have them about 10" from the turbo. My surge was GONE completely, the BOV is soo much louder now (i never touch the adjustment on it). Usually its like a high pitch sneezing sound , now its like pshhhhhh !! But this is with my greddy type S bov, it'll probably be diffrent with other bov's. I will be recirculating it back to the intake when i have the time, to quiet it down.
