I'm a ricer. I hate to admit it, but everytime I see a WRX, Eclipse, or EVO in a parking lot with the BOV going off everytime they get off the gas backing up and getting into parking stalls I get BOV ENVY. Make fun of me all you want but it seems like my BOV never sounds.

I have a BOV. It's hooked up to FPR vacuum. It's a "SSQV" as well.I don't hear it vent until about 4.0 psi.

I can't get it to blow off anywhere near atmospheric pressure like cars mentioned above.

Do I just need more boost(comming soon!)?Faster spooling turbo?OR do SSQV's just not vent until 4.0 psi?

are you dumping atmospherically?

how do you know it's only dumping at 4psi?

I bet you can only hear it at 4 psi, get a BOV with a horn like this onehttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33742

Small turbos can spool up enough to create a small surge of pressure when you close the throttle just revving it. It's an easy way to tell their turbo is small.

Good thing my turbo is HUGE.

So' I just need 25 psi to be a true rice boy right?

I think i'll just settle for a silent bov... :(

Every time your BOV vents you're losing energy. So, definetely a power aimed BOV should not open at low boost, or when feathering the accelerator, or when getting into parking lots. To make it sound EVERY time what people do is adjust the BOV screw wide open. Unfortunately (for ya at least :pface), due to how the SSQV works you can't make it open under very low boost.

I'm going to try and shorten the line to the BOV, and make the ID a little bigger after putting it to full loose.

It worked! It'll vent at 0.0 now.
