Most people will and have always recommended the HKS SSQV. Only because of its "aggressive" sound when ventilating air. I am using it on my RB26 and my brother is using it on his SR20. I love it, he loves it, everyone I know that have one loves theirs. Also, it is one of the few based on the pull-type design. So it is nearly impossible for it to ever leak. And of course, it can release air at even 0.5-1.0 lbs of boost and still be audible, when most other BOVs are quiet or don't even ventilate..... :-)

if you want loud annoying sound then go with turbo xs RFL, i'm useing a ARC, Tail would be great too, not too many ppl like the blitz super sound bov but that makes a really crazy sound.( like a teenager grinding up the gears while shifting, x10 louder)

I love my old school Blitz, but I'm gonna modify it so I can recirculate it. Still loud as hell....I like the way it sounds.

My friend has a Greddy RS on his DSM. It sounds really nice but he's pushing a lot of boost too. I'm not sure how it sounds with low boost.

I got the HKS SSQ and I like it.

Has anybody every found out what kind of BOV was on that yellow Vertex S14 on Vol. 6 of Best Motoring that Tanaguchi drove? That thing sounded excellent.

HKS...it sounds like ****, but what other BOV do you know that seals perfectly and blows off at like 3psi.

I'm getting a greddy RS this weekend. The SSQV sound is attention getting but I'd say that it is obnoxious at best. It pretty much puts a target on your back and trumpets "Look at me I am Boosted!" but it is a great BOV. Just not my taste.

Unless you are going to recirc it isnt every bov an "attention" getter. Hell all of them have asound that isnt in line with a regular run of the mill motor.

Just installed my Sard R2D2.

It sounds like my car is sneezing. I like the sound of my RFL better tho. haha.

And for some odd reason, the BOV doesnt start working until I boost few times. I get few compressor surges then it starts to open up... weird...

The adjustment screw is pretty much out as much as it can. Not understanding why it doesnt open up in the beginning.... hmm... But when it does start working, it works pretty well.

Oh and when Im boosting high... I dont get a continuous PSSSSSSST

I get PSSSST_SSSST_SSSST... weird.

if you are indeed running 18 psi like you say in your sig, you need to tighten the bolt. maybe boost escaping making it sound psst ssst ssst?

If I tighten it too much then I will start getting compressor surges at low boost...

Psst sst sst doesnt occur when Im on the throttle, occurs only when Im off the throttle and running high boost. So I dont think its boost escaping but more like the spring is too hard and causing the piston to shut the reopen again...

Upon further search... people are saying that SARD sounds like WWWOSHOSHOSHOSH soo maybe this is normal?

Mine sounds almost like a mild compressor surge + BOV sound.

LOLthat's exactly how some cars over here sound lolbraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwp CHOO, braaaaaaaawp, CHOO

hell, my boy's 180 squeaks... I mean...it has the loudest exhaust on the island, but the bov is like just a tiny squeak, it's hilarious.BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWP keekI like the greddy type s sound though. the HKS is nice too, but was outta my price range at the time.

got an RFL....had to take out all of the washers and cut a good bit of the spring for it to work lol, hell, it only opens at 7psi full throttle boosting...

Im running the HKS SSQ, it's got a really nice sound at high and low boost. Im only running 5psi right now (No idea why, don't ask) and it still sounds nice. Im going to recirculate it soon since i dont really like the half stall you get when you throw it in neutral from high RPM.
