So, here I am...just enjoying my new toy and showin it off at work. My friend is under the hood lookin at everythin and tells me to rev it up so he can hear the bov go off. Haha, unfortunately for him when I do that oil sprays out all over his face.

I"m almost pretty damn sure having oil coming out of your BOV isnt normal. There is oil dripping from it and every now and then oil will be on the top of the inside of my hood from where it sprays out at. What could possibly be the problem? I was told a bad seal?? When I had the motor installed, they said that the engine has a bad main bearing seal I wanna say...so it leaks oil. Anyone know the problem and the solution? Thanks

Jason

if a main bearing seal is leaking then you will have oil dripping on the ground.

Oil coming out of the BOV either means the turbo seals are bad or ur getting blow by and oil is coming out of the valve cover and into the intake track.

Take off the piping that goes into the turbo from the airfilter. Check to see if there is oil all in that pipe, or take of the hose coming from the valve cover going into the intake piping. run the engine and see if oil is coming out of that hose.

If there is no oil coming out of this and no oil in the intake pipe then it is you turbo seals.

they were talking about your rear main seal. Common on the CA. As for the oil from the BOV, either your turbo seals are going out, or the rings in the motor are bad. Where did you get the motor from? Do you have an oil catch can? I've got oil all over my intake piping, and it's because my rings are bad and I get a lot of blow by.

even if his rings are bad he isn't gonna get alot of oil out of the bov consistently, i'd bet the turbo is on its way out

I'm gonna go out there today and take a look at my car and see what could possible be the problem. I got the motor from DDX (DragDriftAutox). and I'm not sure about the oil catch pan...

haha, hopefully its not the turbo going out cause that would majorly suck considering I'm kinda broke right now.

Mine spits a lot of oil into the intake and out the exhaust.

Couldn't it also be a bad PCV valve? When the valve failed on my little E16 and on my brother's VG30, oil was being sucked into the intake from the valve cover.

:withstupThat was the first thing I did to mine, hoping it would fix the oil problem. It did minimize it, as the PCV valve was toast, but I still get lots of oil in the intake.

Lots of oil in your intake= poor oil control rings, which is very common on these motors because people rev the piss out of them. Oil coming out of you BOV is defintely a "dead, but don't know it turbocharger" . If you have an automatic CA18 engine, you will not have to worry about this (most of the time).
