BOV sounds from air filter

just installed a FMIC w/ HKS SSQV, HOWEVER, the valve works fine but the sound is coming out of my air filter, strange. boost is felt at the mouth of the valve when it opens but no sound. i have checked for back spin but nothing. all's normal, has any one heard of this or experienced it? the boost and vac gauge doesn't wildly change from vac to boost or vice-versa. i expected a nice sound from the valve but i get the stock style chatter sound. if you think about it the sound would have to travel through the I/C past the turbo and up the J pipe to the air filter. all vac lines are hooked correctly.
