this may be a stupid question, ive looked around trying to figure it out. in this video is it the bov thats making the dual blow off sound or what? i would love for my rb20 to sound like that!
whats the set up that makes it do that, is it just a surge or fluter? i hear it on alot of supras or big hp cars.
let me know thanks

:P lol j/k it's prob compressor surge your hearing. Just don't use a BOV and you can hear it every time you close the throttle.

my bov went out a while ago and sounded nothing like that, thats why i was just wondering if it was a certain set up, it doesnt really sound like surge to me. it doesnt even fluter its consistant unlike when you dont use a bov. idk your probably right tho.

Using electric fans in the Desert on the RB? I never had good luck with them on mine. I had the dual felxa lite pullers on my RB20 and the temp still climbed up no matter what when I started driving or was on the dyno. Switching over to the fan clutch was the best thing since sliced bread for my RB.

OP - Hah, no that's a whole other bag of cats. Plenty of threads on here about it though.

This is not a BOV centered video but it is super sweet and has some crazy turbine chatter afterwards http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_qCd6Lx7pE

yeah im using 2 12" fans right now they dont really help to much, driving down the road they actually make it worse i think the restric the air flow, id love to use clutch fan but i have zip for room in my s13 i have like 2-1/2 in between my pullys and my radiator. last month i blew a heater core hose on the dyno because it ran so hot.. what a mess coolant everywhere i felt so stupid lol

Look in the RB section, they have people who run them on S13's. Very good bang for the mod.

ive seen ppl that cut the front core support and push the radiator forward to get the clutch fan on there, not sure id want to do it that way but ill have to give it a look i havent really looking into that i hate clutch fan honestly there so loud! but cool wonderful lol

If you don't cut it then you get a different raditator and put it under the core support or shave the fan. I'm a function over form kinda guy so I cut my support. On the dyno pull after pull the highest my temps get too are 180ish and then while the car idles it starts to fall back to the 170ish.

yeah that wont help me to much lol. i was just out looking at my set up if i had an inch i could get the fan on there. if the center of the fan wasnt so deep and was more flush with the metal center piece it would fit perfect! im trying to think of a way to make it work with out cutting the core support.

wow i just did it! im sure someone has had to do what i just did it was way to simple i just pulled the 4 bolt that hold the fan blade to the metal center, and instead of it bolting to the front of it its now bolted to the back and BAM! clearence issue solver i have about 1/4-1/2 in of space between my fan and radiator. i may have to trim the blades to clean my power sterring belt we'll have to see when i actually bolt it back on i just mocked it up to see if it would clear. so far so good tho!.

Did you find the thread for the Fan clutch how too's? Mine is the same but I have a shroud on mine so I have to take it the Koyo and the fan off at the same time.

i did find it but nothing to helpful. i just decided to go look at it and see what i could do with it and thats what i cam up with. i don't have a shroud and I'm not sure if i could put one on, i could probably find one pretty cheap to try. I'm hoping it will still cool better then the 2 electric fans.
