instead of getting an aftermarket intake tube and filter, could i install a catch can in this arrangment, and have the recirc tube going into the old breather nipple on the intake tube (even though its quite small)?

I've wondered the same thing...I dont see what it would hurt, the outlet on the recir. valve and the nipple on the suction pipe are close to the same size. so I dont see what it would matter. Im gunna try it...

Problem with the above ^ is that you are drawing unmetred air into the intake via the PCV valve at all times while the intake plenum see vacuum. Too much air and not enough fuel to match...

???

the recirc valve is on the inside of teh MAF, so it stays metered, just goes back in front of the compressor, to be compressed again

and the intake valve cover 'PVC valved' to the intake plenum is how it is setup in stock config

the only thing 'not stock' on that diagram is that the exhaust cam cover is being vented to a catch can, which wouldnt affect any of the pressurized system at all

the recirc is not an issue i think he thinks there's an issue with the catch can configuration which there shouldnt be, i just used that picture from ca19's thread which should work...

The recirc valve = stock bypass valve to me as thats what I've always heard them being called...Im pretty sure that jt15833 means the same.
