I have a FMIC with a Greddy Type-S BOV. How should I tune my BOV to work? Tighter or Looser? What are the procedures to tuning my BOV?

ALSO

When I drive in any gear, let it spool up, then let off the gas with the clutch pedal pressed (free spin) the motor's idle likes to drop to about 300 and then bounce back up and then down to 850. I checked timing and tps for improper settings, but they are all in spec. When I tighten my BOV this seems to help, but I dont want to risk compressor surge. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You want the BOV as loose as you can get it without it constatnly letting air leak out. If you rev the motor above 2500rpms it should blow off. If its blowing off sooner than that tighten it a little bit. As for the other there is an idle adjustment screw most peeps dont know about between the 2nd and 3r runners of the intake manifold. With the tps plugged in addjust that screw some to play with your idle, idle stability and etc.

My BOV doesn't go off when revving until 4K, but when I'm driving it will around 2K, any idea why that is?

simple. you need a load on the engine.

thanks for your input DanielIser

yes when you have a load on the motor, it makes more of an exhaust pressure, thus spooling up your turbo while in gear

how do you check the TPS? I'm having the same problem with you. Are you sure about the BOV setting? as loose as it can be?

if you are venting your BOV to atmosphere then it will always stall, a little. If you recirc it, like its supposed to be, then it wont. But who doesnt LOVE that pppsssshhhttt sound from the Greddy type-s?? Mine stalls a little, but only when i'm really on it. Like if i take it to 6k and just let off the gas totally it usually dies. It just takes a little foot control

yeah i just tightened mine a little bit more and it stopped stalling whatsoever.

to check tps:

engine is stopped.turn key so the check lights light up, the position right before you start it up.then pop hood and get your 7mm tiny rachet ready. Now on the throttle body, you will see on the right of the intake hole a sensor with a harness that points at you. This is the tps.Now you take your voltmeter/multimeter and set it on volts DC.Now you take positive and stab it into the middle hole where the middle wire goes in that plug/harness so it touches the pin. then you stab the top with your negative/black one.Now you should get a reading of .45 or something if it is set correctly. When you take your hand and push the throttle on the other side to all the way open or WOT you should get a reading of about 4 or 5 i believe. Just make sure you get at idle that .48 or .43 and your good to go.

To adjust, you just loosten the 2 7mm bolts on front and back of the tps and with your hands turn it just like you would with the CAS, now make sure you get the right reading and tighten a bolt with your hand just to hold it there. and then carefully without moving the sensor, tighten both bolts back down and BAMMM!!!!
