Im tired of my HKS SSQV, are there any other BOVS that have the same flange? Or do i have to cut off the hks flange and put a diff one on for pretty much every other bov..? Also i was going to get a TIAL but i hear its not good to get them for stock boost, however im installing my boost controller on my redtop soon and plan on going from the stock 7 psi to 11psi, thanks

the synapse synchronic has interchangable flanges, so they have a hks flange available..

looked up clips on youtube, doesnt sound too bad. i got tired of the sound from my HKS ssqv.. so i thought taking that 3 point plastic peice inside the bov that makes the whistle would make it sound more of a woosh, so i took it out... now i hear nothing and you cant even tell my cars boosted lmao.. what do you think of synapse? i havent heard too much about them. and to your knowledge is that the only hks flange compatable bov? & thanks for the info

The synapse is a just about the best bov on the market,(IMHO) since you have looked up the videos on youtube I won't take the time to type all the good things about it out.

I've been running one for the last 2 years and the only time that I get anything that remotely resembles compressor surge is while running down the interstate in 5th gear and I gradually roll out of the throttle after quickly passing a jack hole that cant stay in his own lane.

The only sound it makes is a simple whoosh, how loud it is depends on the pressure behind it. Although, I have noticed that above 20 psi is starts to have kind of a whistle/higher pitched whoosh.

The only down side is that with a maf car you will need to get the $20 fitting so you can run it open atmosphere or it needs to be recirculated.

he pretty much covered it, i am also very satisfied with my synapse, just make sure you order the hks adaptor flange as well as a anti stall kit...because it doesnt sound like your currently recirculated...

yeah im not sure what recirc'd looks like but all i have it a tube from the waste gate which im pretty sure is the vac line. also is the anti stall kit that weird long tube that comes out the bov? and its gunna be soooo annoying to replace the bov.. taking out the old o ring to get the ssqv out is gunna be impossible :tisk:

Well, my stupid knock off hks ssqv took a crap and now i get 100% comp surge, after talking to the guys at my perf. shop they said the synapse is a great bov, however its gunna be really big in my engine bay, so ive decieded to go with a Greddy type RZ

that says it all

the synapse is a larger bov, but nothing crazy... i really wouldnt worry about the size over getting the bov or not... and this isnt some dude in a shop saying something about a part that they dont own, i actually own it.... just saying

synapse also makes a smaller bov the DV. It has very quick response.

This is a pic of the synapse in my car before I moved it to make room for the fan shroud, defiantly one of the largest bovs on the market, but not so big that it is difficult to find a place to put it.

Holy crap! That thing is big lol & my personal preferance is to keep the bov on the hot side, & they have a smaller synapse? Little late now.. Ive heard the greddy RZ is a good bov though, its the same exact bov as the RS, just different colors. I just dont know if im gunna need some sort of recirc adaptor...

Well, Got the RZ installed, this is what its lookin like. I was surging driving the car home from the shop but i adjusted the screw and made it softer and i dont surge however i think when i raise the boost from the stock 7 psi ill prob hear it more, also If my gasket from turbo to manifold is blown, this makes me loose boost...correct? and the BOV sounds like a Woosh followed by a very high pitched whistle
