My question is would I be better off to try and source some oem recirc valves? I am working on setting up my intercooler piping and it will all be custom with a frontmount. I have read on this and it seems I need to recirculate aftermarket bov to get them to work properly. I have a vg30dett installed in my 97 240sx. I will be running a max of 12psi right now. So basically what aftermarket valves do you guys run if you do. Do you run them recirculated? I do not have the factory recircs so I have no idea how they mount so that could be an issue trying to hook them into aftermarket piping. Also I have to buy something eitherway so it isn't like I am ditching the factory ones for a performance gain, I simply do not have either.

Not sure if a front mount IC changes things, but the reason these cars are supposed to use recirc valves is because they use a MAF sensor. If you were using a MAP (mass air pressure) sensor like in newer cars then you can run BOVs no problem. People still run BOVs in their vg30dett's but I remember reading somewhere about shortened turbo life because of it.

Yeah I know if i vent it I am going to be losing metered air. I am thinking I am just going to buy a pair of hks ssqv or some greddy ones and run them recirculated. I just hate to spend the money on them, but I think it will be the easiest way to do it right. I also considered trying out a pair of cheap bov for the time being. Since I will most likely be redoing all the piping with custom stuff from local shop next year anyway.

You can usually find hard pipes for the Z32 with bov flanges already welded in, these go right before the TBs, depending on how much space you have in your 240 I'd say that would be the best place, farthest from the compressor, closest to the TB is ideal.

I have tons of room up front. To be honest the motor fits a ton better in this car than it did in the Z I pulled it from. I could easily seperate motor and trans in car and get to all the accessories.

I am just going to throw a pair of them on and go from there. I need to recirculate backinto the inlet on compressor side right?

They should route air from the chraged outlet side of the compressor to the inlet somewhere between the maf and compressor.
