BOV mounting question

What is the difference between mounting the BOV on the cold pipe side to mounting it on the hot pipe side of the sr black top? Is there any difference what so ever? I searched this topic and found nothing so i posted any help would be appriciated

I heard people say;

cold side = performance

hot side = sound

but if theres no bov on the hot side for the turbo to release air, it cause a turbo surge

they both sound reletively the same. cold side is better tho cause it's closer to the throttle body. the benefit is that there's a shorter distance to the t/b so the bov can relieve the pressure build up quicker.
