I know where the stock location is, but I keep seeing Z's with bov on the charge pipes going to the intercooler. My question is why? Every car I've worked on and owned always had the bov in the cold pipe going to the TB, is there an advantage to this?

The only advantage of a BOV being right off the turbo that I can think of would be possible faster +ve pressure release. Its a bit easier to get to also, but other than that, nothing.

In fact I have the stock recirc's still connected and in addition to them I have a set of Blitz BOV's on the charge pipes running from the intercoolers to the throttle bodies. Why? well I bought it like that and the recircs leak if I disconnect the vacuum hose from them and I would have to plug the lines to delete them properly. Plus I don't get compressor surge with the stocks still connected.

sgt, what body is ur car and is it 2+2? I love the look man, ive been lookin for a set of wheels like that my self but dont got enough moulah for bbs.

As for BOVs

I plugged the stock location and put a set of SSQVs right by the throttle bodies. It seems to be the ideal location, atleast for minimal boost setups (stock to 380 whp at 14 psi)

the bov is most often located next tot he tb as it's purpose is to offgass the compressed air that gets stipped when the tb slams shut, this prevents the air bouncing back to the turbo which can destroy or shorten the life of your turbo, it'll work ont he hotpipe as well but you get more turbulence in the pipes
