I mout my blowoff on the exhuas, uh "hot" side. Here is my reasoning, I'm no engineer but I think I am solid ground here.
It takes a moment for the air in the pipe tract to get moving. After it starts moving I want to keep it moving so there is no lag after the initial punch of the throttle. If you put the BOV nearest the turbo when you shut the throttle the air backs up in the system and comes to a halt. We are talking seconds here but it sits and soaks heat into the intercooler. When you get back on the go-pedal and the BOV shuts you have to get all that air moving again =lag.
By mounting my BOV near the throttle body when I shut the throttle and the BOV pops the air flowing through the system continues to flow, it just exits the system just in front of the TB. It keeps moving and the intercooler stays cooler so when I get on the gas the BOV shuts and the throttle opens, only those few inches between the TB and the BOV need to get moving. I have always done it this way and have liked the results I get. If you are using subinjectors be sure to mount the BOV before and far enough away from the injectors so you don't spray your engine bay with raw fuel.
