anyways, I mounted my HKS SSQ in the driver's side fender well on the pipe that connects the "hot pipe" to the intercooler. Then you just run a hose from the bov to the little nipple top-right of the throttle body (you need a hose adapter to shrink the hose from the throttle body nipple to the hks b.c the hks takes a much smaller hose).

I think if you were to mount it on the hot pipe, you might get a little back fire and maybe some bogging as your ecu is trying to compensate for the air being released. I've seen multiple people with this setup and haven't heard anything wrong with it. It's also the way it's done in Japan. It's the way I'm gonna do it too.

I think it would be better on the tb side, but since there was more room, and easier to take the hotpipe in and out with the greddy mfic kit, i put it on the hot pipe. And like previosuly posted, it does backfire a little, and if i hit boost, then come to a quick stop, my car will run a little loopy bouncing from like 500-800 rpms. But never dies. I think on the hotpipe is fine, and looks better.

Lets see. Blitz and HKS both make hotpipes with their BOV's already attached. I'm cool with having mine on the hot side.

Maybe for S14, but S13 GReddy kit has no place to mount a BOV.

It absolutely does! The big 3/4 inch pipe coming off the hot side in the fender well is meant for a bov. You cut part of it off, slide your flange over it and weld it to the little pipe.

The prope place to stick it is on the cold side, when it's on the hotpipe the air flow stalls out when it oppens causing a little bit more lag. This comes from a turbo nut with a 480+rwhp SR who has a degree in thermodynamics. The reason all the kits put it on the hot side is that it's easeir to fit it in there since there isn't nearly the ammount of junk on that side of the car.
