bov and w/g Q?

ok i have a greddy type rs bov but with one a spring that works arround 4-5 psi. so i need a waste gate right now and do i need one that is arround the same psi? i am going to get a manual boost controller though. so would differeng spring settings on the bov and w/g afftect something? like a 5 psi bov and a 8 psi w/g?what would this do?

Not sureas far as the BOV, but punctuation would help.

BOV and wastegate are not related at all. The BOV releases the pressureized air that is in the intercooler pipes/intercooler. The wastegate regulates how much boost pressure the turbo builds by venting out unwanted exhaust gas. You can set your greddy RS to what ever works for you, and get a wastegate with what ever spring that corresponds to how much boost you want to run.

this always was in my mind, and felt too dumb to ask...

but if the WG is set say for 1.5bar and the BOV in this case is at the 3-4 psi would it open b-4 the boost got into the engine, or it only open when there is vacuum so it doesn't really matter?

always confused me on how it worked.

The bov only opens after boost is build and you release the gas pedal.

What happens then is the rushing air that is going through your IC pipes hits the closed Throttle body plate, bounces back off of it, and escapes through your BOV, instead of going right back at your spinning turbo trying to spin it the opposite way.
