Well, first I had the big dent I put in my car that some of you might remember me posting about and photos of, now I'm having more crap luck...

About a week ago I run over some kind of object on the highway going about 65mph. I have no idea what it was because I was changing lanes and it came up on me so quickly. It was sitting still on the highway and from the very brief glance I had at it, it was round and protruding from the surface of the highway, like a mini speed bump almost but it was maybe 8-12 inches wide and had a height of probably 4-6 inches. That's my best guess. My car hit it pretty hard dead on with the right front wheel.

Well, I got off the highway, got home, looked at everything and it all seemed fine. Well, from that point driving has seemed slightly off, like the suspension or something is a wee bit off balance and jittery. I then notice my back right tire flat after driving briefly down the road and it had a big piece of metal stuck in the side. Well, I go to Discount Tire and get a new stock tire which ran me $189 total, ugh, lol... Then I notice I'm losing 7 pounds of pressure in my right front tire every 24 hours so I go back and ask them to patch it, well they bring me in and show me the tire is fine but the wheel itself is BENT on the inside!

So now my question is, should I go to Nissan and have them replace it and check the car out to see if hitting that object caused any other issues or could the very slight jittery ride be caused by the slightly bent rim? I've thought of going to that OEM parts website to see if they have the stock wheel for sale. The guys at discount tire told me they could send it in to be fixed for $125 instead of replacing it.

So what do you guys think?

The bent wheel is obviously the cause of your misalignment. Fixing your wheel is the cheaper way to repair your car. Nissan won't replace your wheel for you for free under warranty or anything like that for sure since you were the one to drive the car over the object.

If I were you I'd just either look on craigslist to see if anyone is ridding of them, or have the wheel repaired. I think you should be able to find a shop to do it for around 100 if you look around.

Hope you have better luck!

I would say $100 is WAY to much to just fix a stock rim...you could get after market rims for $100-$150 (sometimes).

I think you could find someone to bend it back for $50...or...give a search for stock rims and see if you can get a whole new one for less then $100

But, tough luck, sorry to hear it!

I've been checking ebay and the cheapest I've found is $109 + $32 for s/h. But you're right, I have seen some wheels that I've liked for the $100-150 price range.

Then you would need to buy 4 new wheels, with new tires...

It depends on how much you wanna spend right now, the cheap way is get it heated n bent back... There should be numerous "Rim Repair" places around... I had one of my 20s fixed the day before carlisle for $75

That is more the price range I was thinking...

To the OP...I just remembered why I thought Lewisville sounded SO DAMN FAMILAR! I use to work in The Colony at a warehouse up there (I workED for SYGMA which is part of SYSCO Foods). I would fly in for about 2 weeks a month and did that for about 4 months. I would also stay in Lewisville just North of the freeway, right there by the Best Buy and BJs/BW3s. Do you know where I mean? I can't remember road names right now...and to lazy to pull up Google maps.

Anyway, not that big of a deal...just wanted you to know that someone from the Midwest actually knows Lewisville.

Yeah, the new tollway makes getting to The Colony and to Lewisville pretty easy. 121 tollway that is.

But yeah, I called the Nissan dealership and the guy said $681 for 1 FREAKING WHEEL!!!!!!!!

I just ordered one off Ebay for $109 though, lol. The guy had 100% feedback and has sold this same wheel before so it looks to be legit.

Yea! I would take 121 from...I-35? I think that is where it was...getting to the airport though was always a pain...

There you go...take it to the shop to have them mount it...$10-$20 MAX, and they will balance it and mount it. My local place was $19.99 and lifetime rotation I loved that because their policy stated they would rotate tires if you bought them there...where I only bought 1 tire, so where would they rotate it to? haha

Anyway...Throw the busted rim up on ebay and see if you can get $10, haha.
