howsit fellas my GTSTs speedo doesnt stay still (i mean like im doin 50k and it bounces between 50-60)...anyone know what causes this??? is it the speedo drive is munted and slipping? or a faulty cable?? u can spin the back of the speedo (gauge) and it moves nice and smooth no jumping..

my old R32 with a RB25DET in it did the exact same bouncy speedo (and i didnt really care about it...but with my new gtst i do) AND it did this wierd as clicking/clunking noise wen taking off (wen u let the clutch out and press the gas to take off at the lights)..... Now my new gtst and my old one BOTH did the bouncing speedo and BOTH did the wierd noise so im starting to lean towards the speedo making the noise and also bouncing....it makes the noise wen u just take off and soon as the car starts to move (it would be really doing 2-5 kph) and the speedo bounces from 10-20 lol so its in no way shape or form accurate...but i dont mind about that...im just wanting to know if anyone else has had either of these problems and wat fixed it??? i hope its not the drive shaft universal or the hanger bearing as i dont want it flying to bits on me!!!

i got under the car with my dodgy lil jack and all the universals seem nice and tight (no play) and the hanger bearing seems fine, but i havent taken it off and really sussed it yet

any help towards this would be muchly muchly apreciated guys thanks

The bouncy speedo is often a bone dry cable. Pull the gauge cluster and shoot some WD40 in there and let it work its way down.

WD-40 solved the problem I had with a weird squeak my speedo had when I bought it but now I have the bouncing problem too, not as bad as urs but my speedo sometimes reads anywhere from 10-30kph too high. Usually only on hot days...but lately its started doing it if i drive the car a short distance and let it sit for a short time, maybe 20-30 minutes and start it up again. Everytime I fix something, something else breaks...
