I'm having a problem with my speedometer needle bouncing at about 65mph. I had a SOHC KA before and all I did was switch the tach out. I don't think I have any loose connections, but the car doesn't have an exhaust yet, and I'm wondering if the rattling of the exhaust is just making it jump around. Has anyone else had problems with this?

Get another cluster or go have it calibrated. It happens with FWD as well.

So the CA ECU will drive a Single Cam speedometer then? Did you change out the speed sensor to the MPH one from your KA transmission?

Also... will the CA ECU power a single cam tach? The reason I ask is because I have a "bastard cluster" of sorts. I have HUD in my 92 coupe, and the display no longer works for some reason, but the CA would power the dual cam tach. What I did was buy a JDM cluster and also got a single cam cluster out of the junk yard. I took the US SOHC cluster and put the JDM Speedometer and then swapped in my DOHC tach from my HUD cluster. It all works now, but kinda looks like *** since the HUD tach is smaller than the analog tachs.

I changed the Vss to the U.S. model and the CA's ecu will power the SOHC tach. Ahhh, you been experimenting. That's fun..........

I've got a SOHC speedo and a JDM tach. I did change the sensor in the transmission to the US (MPH) one.

My bouncing speedo quit. It was due to the harmonics of the exhaust and the shaking it was causing in the car. I've almost got the bugs worked out...
