Alright, I just bought tokico blues and went to install when I ran into a snag.

The threaded part of the shaft doesn't have the flat spot that the stock shock has so it won't fit through the hole on the top plate that holds the spring on.

Does anyone know why??

I ordered the right shocks as far as I know, do I have to replace that plate too?? I've seen many write ups installing these but never heard anything about replacing this top plate.

Where can I get one that will work?

Any ideas???

Oh and these are on the front...FWIW.

i'd say drill a few holes here, a few there, make a custom plate and you're good. how hard can it be?

can you still return the blues? if not maybe a machine shop can make you something that'll make them fit? but idk if they make blues for the 3rd gen or not...call tokico?

Can you snap a picture of the problem? I kind of understand what is going on but a picture would definitely help.

Alright well after FINALLY getting a hold of someone at Tokico I found out that apparently car-stuff.com sucks. I've bought stuff from them before but no more.

I ordered front left and right shock assemblies for my Maxima, turns out the part numbers they have listed for it are actually for a 98-01 Altima. Tokico gave me the part numbers I SHOULD have ordered. The first one is listed under car-stuff for a 94-99 Sentra and the other is listed for a 89-94 Sentra.

Needless to say I'm returning them.

Oh and I tried to explain to them this huge error so that other people wouldn't get screwed (I mean think about it...even if that were the only mistake...which I doubt...anyone who owned ANY of those Sentras, 3rd gen Maximas and those years of Altimas would ALL get the wrong shocks!!!) but the three separate people I talked to didn't understand my problem at all so I just gave up.

Thanks to you guys who tried!!!

Oh and not that he'll see this but thanks to Ray at Tokico.

I could be wrong, I seem to remember talk a couple years ago about those year Altima's having rear struts that fit 3rd gens. Or maybe it was just a question about would they fit because they appear similar
