So a friend of mine had an HID kit on his passat which he totaled last week. I got him for 100 bucks without checking mine. Turns out the HIDs are H7 but my headlights are H4(i think). Now I am trying to exchange it with one of the shops around here with installation. But if I decided to put it like this, what would I need to make, and what would I make it of. Or am I better off changing them?

Why would you buy used HID's when you can get them for $75-$100new on the net? You can buy a kit delivered, plug and play for about $90 shipped! Kids!

My car is a 98'

I bought them because A) They have been used only for a week before he got into an accident(i helped to install it)) B) I thought it would be better to give 100 bucks to a friend than a shop that gets them for 20 bucks and sells them for 100. Could we stick to the topic please.

You still did not tell us the year. You can get the right bulb for your application and they should wire in to your hid set up. Also, you should be running a relay or relays with hid's so the bulbs light correctly. Are these oe or aftermarket plug and play. Of course if you know that little maybe you should have a pro do it!

He said a 98... Does your kit accept different bulb types, or is it one of those were you have to the get the bulbs from the company? But from the sounds of it, either way you're going to need h4 bulbs as i don't think h7 will secure properly... I say sell off the kit and just buy another one, as buying bulbs are probably going to run u the same amount as the kit anyhow.

Yes the bulbs are interchangeable, and I am going to have someone professional install it. It is after market. So anyone wants to trade?
