Took my one week old back to dealer for tint and to repair a bad seal on sunroof.

They gave me an I35 loaner with 550 miles.

Car has no usable power, brakes are only adequitePEople complain about the cheap interior in the G35 but did you ever see how cheap all the fake wood looks? The dash gages light up and look horrible and hard to read. People say the G35 has bad gages?! The interior design is way old. Not impressed at all. If this was all they had at 30K then I owuld still be driving my J30. Although I would never get another FWD car again as I am reminded how it feels to plow into turns.

The G35 has spoiled me. I could not see myself driving another car ever unless it was another one. Great handling, great engine/response. Great transmission(from Q45 one that can take the torque so it should last) Great and simple ergonomics. Great brakes. I still am in break in so I do not go past ~4K rpm. But even so I can still get kicked in my pants but his car.

By the way, anyone interested in an infiniti in the Tampa FL area go to Infiniti of Tampa and talk to Clint. Great guy, great deal and the service is off the wall!

PS the I35 is still a good car by normal standards just not mine

Well, you got a chance to do a free road test, and you thought the car sucked. Now, what would you have been driving if Infiniti had NOT given you a free loaner? I've been driving Infiniti loaners since the fall of 1991, and no the G20 is not my personal cup of tea, but I recommended it to a co worker and took her to the dealership and and got her a deal on one. It was perfect for her. And I have fixed up two guys with the I35 just cause they really wanted front wheel drive. How do you think your buddy Clint would feel if he read this post? He probably makes 25% of his living selling I35s. I don't think you are doing him any favors by saying what a great guy he is and Oh, by the way the bread and butter car he sells is crap. Hey, you should buy a BMW like I did, an M5 no less...You know what the dealer gave me as a loaner when I brought my $80,000, 2001 M5 back in with 200 miles for scheduled service....a 96 318 coupe with 68,000 miles and holes in the console where the power window switches should be. This car was so loose that my Valentine one plug vibrated out of the lighter every mile. I will never buy another BMW. Infiniti provides only very low mile, brand new cars as loaners, even when I bring the 92 in! They have earned my loyalty forever, and ANY brand new car they give me as a loaner is just fine with me, and if I get one that does not agree with my personal rear wheel drive, high horsepower philosophy (check my sig) that's just fine. It's still a brand new car that VERY few other brands provide.NOTE...No flame intended...Let's just appreciate what we get for free...and then not knock the product for others to see just because we're rear wheel drive guys.

The I35 is a premium car in a crowd of bland beige barges. But its no G35 by any means. It just doesnt compare.

The I35 is a 4th gen maxima with a fancy suit on. The interior is nice...but by no means worth the extra premium you pay over a Maxima GLE. What you pay for is the great customer service. Have you ever been to a regular Nissan dealer? Consistently low in JDPower satisfaction surveys. I have owned 2 nissans and 2 infinitis. Nissan dealers in general suck. Compared to the Infiniti dealer, they are downright rude. You can't expect the I35 to be that great because it's just a rebadged Maxima. If nissan sells Maximas for low 20K brand new, then the I35 can't be THAT luxurious of a car. (relatively speaking that is)

new maximas aka, 2004's are not 20k new. And even the 4th gen maximas were over 20's new, more like 27k or so. You can get a 00-01 maxima now for like 20 g's. Not cheap.

but the 2004 maxima is MUCH better than the current I35. The current I35 is built on a dated chassis...basically a 4th gen Maxima chassis. Those cars sold for low 20's brand new. Granted, sticker was high 20's but you could easily bargain to get it into the low to mid 20's. Nissan makes money on volume with Maximas.

The 00-01 maxima is the 5th gen.

Personally, I have never even gotten a loaner from an infiniti dealership, and the service has been poor from my perspective. Don't get me wrong, I love my infiniti's, but if i am ever going to have work done on them again, I will find an independent.

All I know is, when I pull into Scottsdale Infiniti, they say, "Good Morning, Mr. Childs! Your G35 sedan loaner will be right out."

NOWHERE else do you get that level of service, and a loaner as awesome as a brand-new G35 sedan, for the money. NOWHERE.

Zinkie..3 Q's no loaner? Move on to another dealer. Have you asked for one...strongly? If you are having a significant amount of work done they are making a lot more money on you than they are on brand new warranty work. Wait a minute! You got a 2003 Q?? You are entitled to a loaner for all scheduled maintenance work while the car is under warranty...read the brochure and don't take no for an answer, call Infiniti USA you're getttin' screwed!

With 3 Q45s, why would anyone need a loaner?

I happen to like the I35 quite a bit.Pleasant interior, comprehnsively equipped, powerful, LOVE that "D" to "3" flip feature whcih perfectly matches my driving style.

I always thouroughly enjoy a I35 loaner, my last dealer loaner was an 2k1 I30, I think loaner programs are pretty expensive and not nearly as heavily subsidized from the factory as they used to be.

makes me appreciate them even more. Also a 03 Maxima GLE, MSRPS in the high 20's.The I35 MSRP's only a couple grand more.

I think the totality of features added to the fact that the car is actually made in Japan and enjoys a more genrous warranty make it into a model all of its own.

Fred..:)

Exactly! The same here :)While I enjoy G35 very much, even to the level it will probably be my next car, I can't call it luxury. It's just very well designed and put together car. Q45 is luxury. G35 is not. It just feels this way, IMO :)

I made an appointment for an oil change and warranty problem with my digital clock today. Was informed by Infiniti of Memphis that loaner cars were no longer provided unless it was a major repair or warranty work. This is a new deal for me...anybody else experience this lately?(My 99 is under warranty til 2006).

Go to the infiniti web site and call customer service. I do not think that is correct but maybe each dealer works differentl at least meeting the minimum that infiniti requires

I gues if there are more dealers in the area then the cometition is tougher and service is better

Don't let it slide, that is one of the reasons you by an infiniti for.
