So I recently just bought a OBX Exhaust Catback for a 03-07 G35 Coupe for my 2004 Infiniti G35 coupe.

Here is the link for reference: http://www.amazon.com/OBX-Exhaust-Catba ... ailpages00

So I got the box in the mail and I notice on the label that it is not for my car...

So I was a little worried that they sent me the wrong item until I looked at the box that showed me the part number, which is EX12566B.

So I call OBX customer service and tell them I might have received the wrong item, and I told them about the issue with the label, but I told them the part number on the box and they said the exhaust in the box was for my car and that they might have placed the wrong label on the box.

So I got all that fixed up, I take it to a muffler shop to get it installed, everything was good until the after the H pipe (where the Y pipe used to be) wouldn't reach the last part of the exhaust. So we all realized that they indeed sent the wrong exhaust for my car, and was charged $100 labor.

I contacted Amazon to let them know I got the wrong part in and wanted to return it and possible get my $100 labor cost refunded because of the mishap, and they contacted OBX directly to take a look at my problem.

I am just wondering, if OBX does not give me a refund for the labor costs, can I take any legal action for false statements made by the operator that I called that said the part was for my car?

I have the receipt from Amazon indicating the exhaust was for a 2003-2007 G35 Coupe and the receipt from the shop that charged me the $100 labor.

Also, does anyone have any experience with this exhaust at all? I believe it is pretty new and did not see any installed on a G or 350z. Would you think it would sound good? Worth it? ($550 for it) I have Megan Racing Test Pipes installed.

I doubt they'll reimburse you for the labor, but good luck!

OBX is pretty low-end stuff. There's no reason to polish exhaust piping except to impress people who don't know exhaust piping.

Keep us posted on the process - I'd think they would want to make it right, but I doubt they'll cover the labor (not that they shouldn't, but they're one of those Chinese companies that doesn't give a damn, since they'll keep selling regardless of bad reviews).

Do you think I can take any legal action for them not paying for the labor costs?

Since I was informed by them that the part was for my car, I went on and had people put it on for me. Thing is I do not have the name of the person I contacted and do not have any recording of such.

Yea forget about it. You should try to get the right one and if is a bolt on exhaust system, than I would recommend putting it in yourself to save the $100 dollars. It is not hard to do, just research, patience and a bit of mechanical experience.
