the "new" ones with HDMI that came out in September 2007?..sorry, those aren't any better.marlin29311 wrote:did you get a new or a refurb? the new ones are supposed to be better - IE the ones with the HDMI in the back...
I dunno, my first box died a year after I got it, then I got the elite and it's lived ever since (knocks on wood)...my brother is the same way...s13jus10 wrote:

what's this? someone getting tired of playing the Wii??? PREPOSTEROUS!
HDMI has been out for a long while and they weren't necessarily any better. The newest revision, codenamed "Jasper" are likely to be more troublefree as the relatively large change in chip size is a good opportunity to try and eliminate the red ring issue. Will it be the cure? Too early to tell at this point. But if you buy one now, it would be a good idea to try and find a Jasper. The following link will explain how to look for one:marlin29311 wrote:did you get a new or a refurb? the new ones are supposed to be better - IE the ones with the HDMI in the back...
don't worry, it's time will come sure enoughmarlin29311 wrote:then I got the elite and it's lived ever since (knocks on wood)...
precisely the reason I just sold my Wii. Smash Bros was awesome.... for about a month after that, there was really no point in owning a Wii. the "fun" only lasts for so long.d!ck wrote:the wii's game range sucks because its all watered-down family schlock balanced so that grandma and baby can play smash bros with tourneyfag billy and still have a chance at winning.
Probably not - I have it in a open entertainment center with a laptop chill pad on the bottom to help keep it cool. My box isn't going anywheres13jus10 wrote:

lol. or it woulda been cool if they actually had like updates via the Wii Shop Channel, where you could purchase new characters, costumes, items, etc.OldmanPurdy wrote:Brawl could have held my interest alot longer if the online didn't suck, seriously whats the point of online gaming if you can't curse and swear at your friends?
haha you'll be surprised. your 360 was designed so that it waits until you're playing your favorite game and you're about to unlock something really really cool... then the lights pounce on you like a ninjamarlin29311 wrote:Probably not - I have it in a open entertainment center with a laptop chill pad on the bottom to help keep it cool. nah, that was my first one. I then got an elite that is the 2nd revision of the xbox, so hopefully it's better...s13jus10 wrote:haha you'll be surprised. your 360 was designed so that it waits until you're playing your favorite game and you're about to unlock something really really cool... then the lights pounce on you like a ninja
If it's a first-gen elite, it could still have the DVDROM drive weakness. Not sayint that to be a party-pooper, just as a warning. That's what killed mine. The 2nd gen elites have far better cooling as well as a non-defective DVDROM drive, so they're pretty safe as far as Xboxes go.marlin29311 wrote:Probably not - I have it in a open entertainment center with a laptop chill pad on the bottom to help keep it cool. That is just fluff solid customizable online with voice chat is what the game needed not new outfits. When I have to use my 360 so i can chat with friends in another game on another system there is a problem.s13jus10 wrote:

I believe it's a 2nd gen - i didn't get it until several months after they put the elite out, so here's to crossing my fingers...MinisterofDOOM wrote:
