I agree with you, Driving Instructor, young Canadians (especially in rural areas) like their pickups! And you get what you pay for. Generally speaking, you can usually count on any manufacturer to produce a more resilient pick-up truck than sub-compact car.
I think anyone is better-off going with Nissan over Toyota (as long as we're talking about new), car or truck.
You can't be serious.Nissan is a full step below Toyota in quality, reliability and everything else. I bought the Versa because it was inexpensive for the stuff it came with and the size. It was a compromise to save thousands over a compariable Corolla (with side air bags, antilock brakes, etc). My neighbor bought a Corolla the same week I got my Versa, yes the Corolla is smaller and doesn't have all the goodies, but it hasn't been to the shop either (four trips for my Versa so far).
Back to Toyota trucks: Four years ago, I was shopping for a pickup. I test drove everything except a Titan. Never considered a Nissan for a truck. 80,000 miles later and the Tundra is trouble free.
