Front smacked. Runs ... drives. All good. what parts should I look at pulling to keep for my '05 Q? I already pulled this list from another post ... anything else I should grab before I sell off the body?

2. Driver's seat rocking/movement.
3. HID ballasts.
5. Dashboard cracks/splitting. Check your dash for cracks and splits. Keep a good leather/vinyl conditioner on your dash to prevent it from cracking. The dash composite is thin on the Q45 and tends to crack/split during very cold and hot weather. Infiniti will not provide any warranty coverage.
6. Smart key ignition failure. You make experience intermittent electrical failures when you attempt to start your car.
7. Center console display/screen failure. You may notice your center display screen glitch off and on at times. This could very well mean that failure is around the corner.
8. Center dash joystick failure. You may need to remove and clean the underside of the joy stick or have the panel replaced/repaired.
10. Rear sunshade failure. (if so equipped)
11. In-dash CD changer failure. (the manufacture once provided free replacement/fix). Just use one CD at a time to prevent the in-dash CD changer from getting jammed.
12. Power window motor failure. You may first notice your windows going up/down very slow before the motor fails.
13. Laser guided cruise control failure. The guidance device (laser) may fail.

Are you going to pull the engine and trans? You'd probably get a good bit from that.. Also the front and rear brake calipers/brackets/rotors will be worth some dough too.

Yeah, i should make most my money back. I got $3000 in it, might have it flatbed to the house, so another $400. But I bought it mainly for parts for mine. Doubt you remember, like 10 years ago, but I had a white 1990 ... cherry car. I had her for six years and would have kept her a lot longer. But I over heated her on a vacation to Florida. I gave her to a NICO member in Gainesville who totaled his Q but had a good engine. Hope she is still going ...

I'm looking for parts I need to put in the attic for my car long term. I will have her at least ten years +. Can you or anyone pop a short list of what i should grab before i look at what to sell? Going to sell the engine without the electronics, body parts, whatever else i probably won't need long term.

picks of my salvage Q ...

Must be worse than it looks... looks very repairable. It's too bad you can't keep the whole car in a barn somewhere.

well, i wasn't looking for a Q, actually searching for a salvage R1 or CBR1000 to setup for track days. and there she was sitting on the 2nd row. So i got on the auction. Only three bidders, my max was $2400. If i could get a steal, great, otherwise i don't need this. I still want a track bike. and $2400 won it!!! It was under minimum bid, but the nationwide insurance agent said let it go. snap. everything has really rocked. I thought I was going to have to pay $500 in auction fees, but when i went and paid Wednesday it was only $275. Now the real kick, i called AAA... i have a Premium membership ... THEY'RE GOING TO TOW IT FOR FREE!!! So $2,675!!! :woot:

Don't really know what i am doing with the car, but i doubt i spend the cash to get her titled and sold. Headlights, air bags, and front end parts are probably 4-5 grand? To sell her for 10-12? Salvage title, i won't get much more.

Yeah you're right there, it's probably worth more parting it out than together, that is if you have the patience and space to part out a car. Parting out a car can become a real thorn in the side (trust me, I KNOW!).

The engine and transmission will be worth pulling out, but in my experience things like hood, doors and whatnot are not worth hanging onto, and they take up a lot of space and are heavy. Door panels and window regulators are definitely worth taking..

Honestly another thing that I wish I would have done more of on my parts car is to take off and sort nuts/bolts/plastic clips.. It's amazing how often you break a clip or lose a bolt, and rather than hunting for it just to be able to have a spare on hand is amazing..

IMO a wrecked car like this is never going to be the same, especially on a car like this where they're not exactly sought after and in high demand. After all, why would someone buy a salvage title vehicle when for similar prices you can find mint examples. It would only be worth it IMO to fix it up and drive it yourself, not sell it.

I'm picking up a 91 Q hopefully next week as a parts car, and I'm going to get that thing out of my driveway as fast as possible once I get the parts off it I need :)

No it's not active, I think it's green/tan, honestly I'm not sure because i'm going to take the engine and a few other bits out and junk the rest, I don't want this thing sitting around in my driveway forever..

Let me know if you want to sell some parts. I have a small list of things I'd be willing to purchase from you.

Sounds like you got a steal. The seats alone should bring $800-$900 if they're in good shape. The wheels/tires are worth $600-$700 depending on the tread. It starts to add up fast.
