Yeah you're right there, it's probably worth more parting it out than together, that is if you have the patience and space to part out a car. Parting out a car can become a real thorn in the side (trust me, I KNOW!).
The engine and transmission will be worth pulling out, but in my experience things like hood, doors and whatnot are not worth hanging onto, and they take up a lot of space and are heavy. Door panels and window regulators are definitely worth taking..
Honestly another thing that I wish I would have done more of on my parts car is to take off and sort nuts/bolts/plastic clips.. It's amazing how often you break a clip or lose a bolt, and rather than hunting for it just to be able to have a spare on hand is amazing..
IMO a wrecked car like this is never going to be the same, especially on a car like this where they're not exactly sought after and in high demand. After all, why would someone buy a salvage title vehicle when for similar prices you can find mint examples. It would only be worth it IMO to fix it up and drive it yourself, not sell it.
I'm picking up a 91 Q hopefully next week as a parts car, and I'm going to get that thing out of my driveway as fast as possible once I get the parts off it I need
