Sweet pickup Noah. I've ridden in Greg and Bex's and it has enough headroom for Yao Ming. And like 5 bajillion cupholders! It might not be a powerhouse, but that's what the Subie is for.
Exactly. Fun little car. Hell, if I had to park the Subie, I would be down with it for a DD. It definitely grows on you the first day you own it.

Coming from a guy who drives a Buick Stationwagon.
Jesda wrote:Ahh, congrats on the Cube. Didnt know you had children.
No kids, but a dire need for cargo space. This has it.

And to think, you were growing on me!
I still have the Subarota. I can't completely break your heart.
billabong093 wrote:Yucky. Did yours come with the optional shag rug/astro turf looking thing slapped up on the dash?
Yes, it had the shag on the dash. My wife asked me to peel it off when we were loading her personal stuff out of the Jeep into the Cube. It wasn't our car for more than 2 minutes before it was gone.
bmike818 wrote:LOL at the shag rug. Conrgrats on the new car! I like the wheels.
We actually went through a hell of a negotiation to get those wheels. I ended the negotation by explaining "Steel wheels, no sale. Silver alloy wheels, no sale. Put the Gunmetal alloys that my wife likes on there, and we'll buy it.

The stock 6 speaker sound system isn't bad at all. Way better than the garbage they hock off as a sound system in a Subaru. I wanted to upgrade to the system with the Rockford components, but it's WAY cheaper for me to buy a badass set of Focal speakers and do it myself.

All said and done, I told him I could get VPP pricing, and he laughed. Said he would beat the VPP offer, gave me 6.85% off of the invoice, gave me the $750 rebate, 4.99% APR, and gave me exact KBB trade in value for the Jeep, which netted me $300 toward trade in.

I could have sold off the Jeep myself, and made a grand or two, but between the PITA of having to sell it, and the fact that if it didn't sell quick, I would have had 3 car payments, and overall, just not wanting to deal with it, it worked out well.

Most important, my wife is really happy, loves her Cube, and the damn thing clocks awesome mileage.

The Cube had one of the cheapest interiors I saw at the auto show, but I skipped the Chevy area. The Aveo was probably a little bit worse.

I don't like it at all, especially considering what else could be had with that kind of money. But if wifey's happy, that's good. She's the one who drives it anyway.

I got to ride around in a Cube before, wasn't that epic of a car, but I'd def rock it as a daily and my mom would probably sell the Q45 and pick one up if it were up to her.

I didn't think it was that cheap, but I am not as picky as you are. Did you see they offer one with Leather seats? It still comes with the awesome carpet dash mat too...

You need to do a test for NICO and see how many boxes of Kokanee you can fit in there.

I dunno, we walked out for $15k. There's not much on the market for that kind of money that can compare.

The Cube interior might LOOK cheap, but it's 1000x more functional AND comfortable than anything the US makes under $20k. Period. I rent a lot of cars, and they're universally SUCKY interior-wise.

The seats are super-cozy (memory foam and granny-sofa-velour FTMFW) and the interior door handles would be at home in a M45.

Yeah, Had to drop off the rear seat that goes in the Jeep. It easily fit in the back. The big test will be when we go to Costco.

I didn't really like them when I first saw them, but this little thing is growing on me. The more I see it, and ride in it, the more I like it.

Well, its not for functionality/usability reasons. The Cube was hyped up while publications paraded around pictures of the previous generation. We got a bigger version in the US that looked as if Toyota got their hands on the design. It lost the clean geometrically-themed sheet metal and headlights.. The face now conveys down syndrome instead of classic functionality. Fortunately, its still a box inside, which means room for people and objects, and since its still small and light, it doesn't cost much to fill up.

I kinda like the Crosstour from the back. I definitely like it a lot better than the Accord sedan. The nose is still crap, though, thanks in part to Honda's trademark headlights sticking out ten feet past the rest of the fascia.

Well, if my last two Nissan products are any indication, cupholders are on the rise. My Titan has 10 frigging places for cups and bottles. The G35 Coupe had 8. Is the formula now to put 2 cupholders for every passenger? And as I recall, my s13 had a pseudo cupholder if you removed the ashtray and the S14 had the opening in the center console (which only worked for small drinks and cans if you had the divider and even then, mine broke because a soda can was putting too much pressure on it). Don't get me wrong. This is not a complaint. It just seems like overkill.

Yeah, I agree. And when I compare my 90s Nissans with modern Nissans (or even cars in general) it seems even more hilarious. My Maxima didn't have any real cupholders. It has these failtastic round cutouts in the coin tray that were not the right size for ANY cup and too shallow to hold one with any liquid in it. The Q had two cupholders but they were INSIDE the armrest cover, so if you put anything bigger than a can in there (so, any fast food drink) you couldn't close the arm rest. My dad's Maxima has four cupholders, two front and back. Same with my Lincoln. Even the effing Miata has a cupholder per occupant now.

I haven't tried the cupholders yet, but they look too small for the good things in life, like a cup of coffee. It looks like a bunch of water bottle cupholders.

I <3 the Cube, good buy, and good color.

More companies need to make factory 4-spoke wheels.

Now lower it.

It'll get backed into by a Crosstour because they couldn't see out the back.
