Ok, here is the deal. I currently have a 1989 S13 coupe that I really adore. However she is starting to rust out on the frame and I've decided to get in the market for a newer car.Out of luck I got my hands on another S13 in really nice shape.

Here's the bad news. The car won't start and I was told that it is the cam timing gear. I bought it anyways because it was a good deal. Now the car is in the shop under examination but the guy just shook his head when I told him the problem. Is it that bad. I've swapped cams before so I figured it wasn't going to be much of a hassle. He's telling me that that might just be the timing chain, in which case something else must have gone really wrong and maybe the whole engine might need to be replaced. I really don't have much cash left after some very large expenses that I had to care of. Anyone knows what I am really looking at?
